The bravado of Kevin “The Angry Vet” Soper was tested on Wednesday as his bold claim that he would confront police and demand a reprimand for an off-duty police office who allegedly sped by him at a high rate of speed the day before be reprimanded was tested as he would have to travel beyond his comfort zone to another precinct to do so.
Soper’s Tuesday livestream was devoted to an incident he said happened as he was traveling in Harford County, Maryland, when he was passed by an off-duty Harford County Sheriff’s department vehicle doing at high rate of speed with its lights and sirens off.
Following the vehicle to the home of the officer, and strangely failing to record any of the interaction, Soper said he found the officer, who he identified as “deputy Burns,” before Burns’ living companion came out and harassed Soper.
An unmarked patrol vehicle may have shown up at the scene and Soper may have been scared off, only livestreaming after the incident had resolved and Soper said he was calming down at a local park.
Wednesday’s live stream started with Soper seeking donuts and cigarettes, briefly stopping to ask a Harford County Deputy how an officer who had been struck by a car was doing before driving to Dunkin’ Donuts.
Once he fulfilled his order, Soper said that police were tracking him as he exited the parking lot and eventually traveled to a Harford County Sheriff’s department office. He meandered in the parking lot of the facility, mumbling with two different parking meters before finding his way inside.
Soper demanded to see a Sergeant in order to launch a complaint. When the officer doing reception asked him for the name of the officer involved in the incident, Soper dismissed him, saying that he would only give the details of the incident to the Sergeant on duty.
Eventually, it would get through to Soper that the officer was asking as the county was divided in half and that there were two different sergeants at two different facilities who could handle Soper’s complaint… depending on where the deputy worked.
Soper named the Deputy as Burns and was told that he was out of the Southern office. He was given directions to said office and eventually declined to go so far to the south in order to make his complaint.
The rest of the video saw Soper again meander around outside of the facility, going up to perceived police vehicles and imagining that there were police officers following him.
He would call to make an unspecified appointment with someone; apparently non-police related and end his livestream soon after.
Soper has not mentioned the incident since Wednesday.
