DeleteLawz Confronts Cop at Safeway Grocery Store

Jose “Chille” DeCastro recorded himself having an epic meltdown in front of a Safeway Grocery store Monday night in Washington, D.C., after being asked by a police officer to stand back from an active crime scene.

Officers were in the process of arresting a teenaged girl for shoplifting when an enraged DeCastro began filming what he claimed to be the mistreatment of the woman by police.

While DeCastro claimed he was standing 30 feet away from the scene he can be seen in his video approaching the open doors of the grocery store at various times before the incident with the police officer.

As aired, DeCastro was standing on the sidewalk outside of the Safeway supermarket when an officer approached him and asked him to step back. DeCastro responded by demanding the officer’s badge number and name and openly stating that he was a “famous” YouTube personality and that he would get the officer fired.

DeCastro, who has long taken pride is his new “respectful” approach to police officers, reverted into his old habits and continued to berate the officer, challenging the officer to drop his weapons and come to a gym to “workout” with DeCastro.

The YouTuber would later claim that he would have “destroyed” the officer in the “workout” as the police officer could not stand up to his athletic prowess and his years of experience in violent “workouts.”

As police took the suspect from the scene and prepared to leave, DeCastro again launched into a tirade directed at the officer. He said that his footage would be aired on CNN as he was a famous YouTuber with thousands of viewers and again promised to have the officer fired or suspended from his duties.

When the officer attempted to turn his vehicle around by doing a three-point turn, the officer apparently trolled DeCastro by turning on his lights an sirens, making it difficult for DeCastro to be heard on his livestream.

After the police left, witnesses said that they would have never dared to have talked to the police in the manner that DeCastro did and that he was allowed to do so because he was white. DeCastro joked that those witnesses, who were black, had the “melonation for incarceration” and were wise to stay silent.

DeCastro would re-enter the store and was rebuffed when he demanded immediate access to the store’s video surveillance footage of the incident. When a worker informed him that he would not be provided with the footage, he indicated that he would return in the morning for the footage.

Fans of DeCastro were immediately concerned about his health as he was visibly shaking and appeared frail and weak after the incident. The diminutive YouTuber has been battling high blood pressure and was reportedly briefly hospitalized in 2023 following a high blood pressure event.

The incident marks another incident where DeCastro has blurred the lines between his roles as a civil rights activist, journalist and first amendment auditor. His actions have also concerned many with his return to threatening police officers with acts of violence when he was not allowed to have his way.

Critics say that for someone who is in Washington, D.C., to document the authoritarian crackdown on the city by a “corrupt” government, DeCastro, who says he is running for a role in “government,” immediately resorts to threats of violence, retaliation and oppression when challenged.

DeCastro’s footage has yet to air on CNN or other networks as of press time.
