Chaos ruled in Arizona on Thursday as long time YouTuber and activist James “James Freeman” Springer was apparently arrested for suspicion of assault on a police officer in Sahuarita, Arizona.
Friends and associates of Springer led the charge to the area and stated that Springer was “viciously assaulted” by Sahuarita Police Chief John Noland, who attacked Springer without provocation.
As news spread, YouTuber Tuc. Police Suck led a motely crew of supporters to the Sahuarita police department to yell profanities at workers while in search of Springer and then to an area hospital, where they were quietly escorted to the parking lot by staff members.
Jose “Chille” DeCastro went live with what he knew on the situation, as he was wearing sunglasses resembling those worn by Brett “the Hitman” Hart from 1990’s WWF wrestling segments.
DeCastro went into an elaborate statement that Springer was now being held while shackled in “torture cuffs” and soon police would come for him to give him a rectal examination for contraband.
He added that Springer would then be in a holding cell with many “smelly” homeless people and recounted his own observation of a homeless man reaching behind a toilet to eat a urine-soaked apple core the last time DeCastro was in jail.
DeCastro said that he regretted not airing the audio he had recorded of he and Springer, who had long been at odds, making up. He indicated that it could be the last time in a long time that anyone heard from Springer and marveled at the opportunity Springer would make from a GoFundMe devoted to fighting the arrest.
No such GoFundMe had been created as of Saturday morning.
SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes dominated both Friday and Saturday’s crowd sourcing take. His Stand with me to Hold Bryan Fahey Accountable fund won Friday with a $50.00 take and came in second on Saturday with a $20.00 take.
Reyes’ Support the Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption campaign placed second on Friday with an $11.00 take but brought in $200.00 for first place on Saturday. No other campaigns that we follow received donations for either day.
Springer was released from custody without incident Thursday night and went live soon after arriving at home while holding one of his infant children. Appearing uninjured, Springer did not share video of the alleged assault.
The YouTuber claimed that Chief Noland attacked him for no reason and said that while he was treated with respect by everyone else at the station, Noland was just a bad person and needed to be removed from his job.
Springer indicated that since Chief Noland was involved in the incident, an investigator from the Marana Police Department was brought in to handle the investigation.
The YouTuber also claimed that the Marana investigator cleared him of wrongdoing and was doing an investigation to turn over the handling of the “assault” by Chief Noland to the State’s Attorney. Published reports indicate that an investigation is still pending.
Returning to the Sahuarita police department on Friday, Springer held a protest of sorts outside the building. He streamed for over three hours from the location before setting the stream to private status.
In the end, multiple published reports from local reporters still had a vague overview of what actually happened. Springer himself said that he had been helping an elderly couple, who do not have an attorney, in a case involving Sahuarita police.
The couple had been set to be deposed on Thursday and, according to Sahuarita police, Springer and his camera crew attempted to access the room where the depositions were set to happen.
When Springer attempted to prevent a door from being closed, Nolan and two police officers physically engaged with Springer, resulting in Springer’s arrest.
According to Tucson TV 13 News, Chief Noland has spent over a decade in the department and has never had a complaint filed against him. Noland remains on duty with the investigation is pending.
