Kevin “The Angry Vet” Soper had an angry incident at the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport in Baltimore on Sunday as he was denied boarding by discount air service provider Spirit Airlines after multiple incidents with Spirit Airlines employees.
Soper started the day by appearing topless in his backyard on a mid-morning livestream announcing that he was getting ready to travel to BWI in order to catch a flight to Detroit later that day. On the livestream, he said he could not “medicate” for the day and appeared agitated as he and his wife briefly searched for and found his cat, which had left his general area, before ending the livestream.
The YouTuber would return with a livestream from the airport where he stated that his flight to Detroit was delayed and that he was upset with the compensation of a $30.00 voucher provided to him by Spirit Airlines for the delay.
Soper said that the $30.00 voucher was not enough to purchase “a meal” at the airport and made the clear statement to his fans that Spirit Airlines hates military veterans.
Clearly agitated, the YouTuber approached the Spirit Airlines ticket counter and asked for a supervisor named Dave, who had previously spoken to. Declaring that he was a United States military veteran, Soper said that the compensation was outrageous and that it was no way to treat a former member of the armed services.
Dave, indicating that he was also a military veteran, explained that there was nothing further he could do for Soper, and that he was not authorized to give Soper further compensation. Explaining that if he gave Soper extra compensation, he would also have to give that compensation to everyone whose flight was delayed.
Soper said that Dave was in a position to make a change on behalf of the customers of Spirit Airlines, but that since he was unwilling to do so, all of Soper’s subscribers would be filing complaints about Dave’s decision.
Leaving Dave behind, Soper went to the TSA security checkpoint to attempt to re-enter his gate for his rescheduled flight. Soper was told that his boarding pass had been cancelled by Spirit Airlines and that he would have to go back to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter to get a new boarding pass.
Returning to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter, Soper called a ticket agent a “little birdy” before her manager, identified as “Curtis” told the woman, along with her fellow agents, to walk away from Soper.
Soper confronted Curtis, who explained to Soper that when he left the secured area and went outside to smoke a cigarette, he invalidated his original boarding pass. Soper had then been issued a new boarding pass to go through the security checkpoint, however, the men quarreled over Soper’s use of the term “birdies” for the female ticket agents.
The YouTuber paused and told his fans to alert YouTuber Clash with Bao of the incident before he returned to the TSA security checkpoint. At the checkpoint, Soper was eventually greeted by police, who informed him that Spirit Airlines had revoked his boarding pass and invalidated his ticket to Detroit.
One of Soper’s associates immediately rebooked Soper on a flight to Detroit on Southwest airlines, and Soper was able to remain at the airport following the incident with police. He would later confront the same police officers after one of Soper’s viewers called authorities and was told that Spirit Airlines canceled his ticket because they thought he was inebriated.
Soper then demanded that his fans brigade both the police and Spirit Airlines’ complaint departments, then declared that Spirit would be reimbursing him for both his original ticket and his new ticket to Detroit.
The YouTuber apparently made it to Detroit without further incident, appearing on a third livestream Sunday night, where he taunted a viewer to meet him at a restaurant for a face to face confrontation.
Soper’s outburst did nothing to help his on-going fundraising efforts for his Boost SCARS’ Mission for Veterans and Citizens GoFundMe campaign, which continues its multiple months stay at $1,240.00 raised out of a $20,000.00 goal.
Saturday’s crowd sourcing title went to SeanPaul “Long Island Audits” Reyes, whose Stand with me to Hold Bryan Fahey Accountable fund took in $245.00 for the day.
Sunday’s title again went to Reyes’ Fahey fund, which took in $80.00 for the day.
Monday’s title also went to Reyes’ Fahey fund, which took in $110.00 for the day. It was joined by Reyes’ Support the Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption fund, which took in $35.00.
No other campaigns received donations for the over the three-day period.
