Hanging on every word out of dance sensation and YouTuber Christopher “Denver Metro Audits” Cordova’s mouth on Friday, fans of the Denver based YouTuber enjoyed his tales of troubles with a simple car registration that resulted in the abandonment of the vehicle in the Denver Metro area they tuned into his latest livestream.
Before a mild rant about the absolute horrors of having to pay car registration and licensing fees just to drive on “roads we paid for,” Cordova started his tale of terror that started innocently enough, which his inheritance of a 2008 Cadilac from his grandparents after his grandmother died last year.
The car had previously belonged to his grandfather and was filled with non-standard electronic gadgets and features that weren’t seen on a normal car. Cordova seemed impressed with the car, which he needed to drive from New Mexico to Colorado with the help of former girlfriend Sweet T.
Once in Denver, Cordova said that he did not bother to register the vehicle as he was moving soon and would have to update the registration once he moved. He said that he received a single warning that the tags and license plate had expired before the car was eventually seized by police.
Cordova inquiries to the police proved that they had seized it, and before he was able to come up with the fees that he would need to update the registration, tags, license and add the car to his insurance, he had missed the deadline to hold the car, and it was sold to an auction house.
The YouTuber said he was willing to accept the loss, despite the vehicle being his “audit car,” because it was having significant problems with its battery due to the cold weather and was proving to be a money pit, like all Cadillacs of that era.
Recently, the car returned to Cordova’s life as it had been dropped off at a dealership without a note describing what work needed to be done on it. The dealership found a receipt in the glove compartment with Cordova’s name on it and assumed he was the real owner.
Cordova said he became wary when the dealership offered him the ability to take the car as they had no listing of a new owner and the title accompanying the car still had his name on it. Fighting his urge to go get the car without checking out the circumstances surrounding its appearance at the dealership, Cordova contacted his mother, who told him to be wary of the deal.
His mother warned that the car could have been a trap by Denver police targeting Cordova. She warned that police may have placed illicit items in the car and may be monitoring the car to arrest him once he assumed ownership and removed the car from the dealership.
Her own investigation apparently turned up evidence that it was indeed registered to a new owner, and Cordova had no legal claim to the car. He thanked his mother for intervening as she saved him from possible arrest.
Cordova went on to describe his mother as his current best friend. He said that he was a “bad friend” and that most of his friends had moved on because of it. The YouTuber seemed to perk up after mentioning that he would be going out to celebrate his mother’s new job with a special meal followed by homemade root beer floats.
Updating his on-going legal efforts, Cordova said that he may have been responsible for YouTuber Frauditor Mania removing over 62 videos from his YouTube channel. Cordova described those videos as all of Mania’s videos featuring the work of YouTuber JC News Now.
Cordova had previously announced that his LLC would soon be acquiring the back catalog of JC News Now’s YouTube channel and would be actively enforcing the copyright of videos featured in the purchased back catalog.
The Denver based YouTuber is scheduled to livestream again on Sunday, where he will be joined by that Randall S. “The Unhinged Attorney” Newman, Esq., to discuss fair use and to provide updates on his pending litigation.
