On September 10, 2024, an article appeared on both ReallyCoolSite.org and on our ReallyCoolNews YouTube channel summarizing a Twitter article by Lindsay Gaetani, former girlfriend of Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney. Gaetani identified current Bristol, Massachusetts, Parking Authority Board member Jason Broyles as a person who tormented her via an assumed name on Twitter.
Someone purporting to be Broyles then left a series of abusive messages on our ReallyCoolNewsWire Discord server resulting in their ban from the server. At the same time, the associated Discord account apparently attempted to communicate with our Discord account via direct message, which was not accepted due to their prior abusive behavior on our public forums.
Ten months passed and the account purported to be Broyles, again apparently reached out on YouTuber Merb34st’s Discord server on Sunday with a series of negative messages and we directed them, as policy, to approach via direct message.
That account went on to have a lively debate with the members of Merb’s forum, and later admitted it was seeking the removal of the article and video, but had no intention of suing, preferring to use alternative means to discredit the original article.
The account also said that it was attempting to “scare” us into action and that the story was causing them problems as possible clients Googled Mr. Broyles name and saw the news article based on false accusations. Mr. Broyles’ extended outburst and colorful commentary using the “Starrman72” user name on Sunday can be seen on the Merb34st’s Discord server.
The extended outburst was later rated at 6.0 out of 10 on the public blowup scale by forum user WTT.
In response to Mr. Broyles’ messages, we have temporarily removed the ten-month-old article from our website and the accompanying YouTube video as we investigate the claims made by Mr. Broyles against Ms. Gaetani.
Most people, contact publishers politely, then get lawyers then sue.
Guilty people, who are accused of threatening others, come on strong, make threats, say vile things and generally act abusive to others.
I don’t know anything about this case but I do know what type of behavior I am seeing and thus draw the conclusion directly from their behavior.
