Easter Sunday saw no relief for Craig Hendry as Jose “Chille” DeCastro again punted on his promise to start a GoFundMe to raise the $12,000.00 needed to pay Hendry’s bond for charges out of Sullivan County, Indiana.
On DeCastro’s Saturday livestream, explained that he was extremely busy but then promised that he would release the new GoFundMe for his friend Hendry “by Monday.” While he admitted he had failed in keeping to previous deadlines for the campaign, he assured his fans that he would keep his promise to his friend.
Hendry is currently serving time in Vermillion County, Indiana, for a conviction last year on felony stalking and misdemeanor harassment charges. He claims that he will be released from the Vermillion County Correction Center on June 30, and then will be transferred to Sullivan County, where he has outstanding charges.
Sullivan County has charged Henry with charges of intimidation, disorderly conduct and refusing to leave the area of an emergency incident. The charges stem from a 2024 incident where Hendry allegedly ignored commands by police to remain a set distance away from an accident scene.
Once the Sullivan County case resolve, Hendry is set to go into custody of Greene County, Indiana, for two different sets of charges involving two different incidents. The first, for resisting and obstruction and unlawful encroachment of an investigation; the second for making a false complaint against a law enforcement officer.
DeCastro has been highly involved in helping Hendry while Hendry’s been incarcerated. He regularly takes donations on Hendry’s behalf, and claims that all donations he receives to his cashapps in Hendry’s name go directly to Hendry’s commissary account.
The YouTuber claims he was recently asked by Erika Brown, Hendry’s girlfriend, to create and to promote a new GoFundMe to address the Sullivan County bond issue. While Hendry has two existing GoFundMes, one created by Brown, they apparently feel DeCastro’s popularity will help them raise the money for Hendry’s bond at an expedited rate.
DeCastro has hampered the request, promising several different dates for the creation, only to delay as he’s been “too busy” to help due to several on-going projects. Most recently, DeCastro was flustered by ChatGPT on his Saturday livestream, which told him he would be able to make Brown a direct beneficiary to the funds from the GoFundMe, but did not give him explicit instructions on how to do so.
It is unclear if or when the YouTuber will attempt to get around this limitation, nor is it clear why Brown does not just create a new GoFundMe on her own, to give to DeCastro to promote.
DeCastro’s inactions had no impact on the market for Saturday, as our own On-Going Expenses account took the day with a donation of $70.00. It was closely followed by a single donation to Lane Myers’ GiveSendGo account for $25.00.
No other campaigns received donations for the day, including Hendry’s existing campaigns.
JOURNALISM IN CRISIS
Both ReallyCoolSite.org’s daily newspaper and our daily newscasts are funded by your continuing donations and what we make from our YouTube AdSense revenue each month.
If you’d like to contribute to help us keep the lights on, eating, keeping the cats fed and writing new stories to feature on both the newspaper and newscast each day, we do have a GoFundMe set up at: https://gofund.me/76d87459
As real American and true protector of the first amendment Lane Myers has made multiple threats to sue us in recent days, portions of all donations may also go towards fighting any possible future lawsuits.
If you can’t afford to contribute, please watch our entire videos, like, share, subscribe and comment. You CAN help by doing next to nothing and we thank you in advance for pitching in!
